I first found Reflexology when I was 18 years old after a bout of glandular fever before studying a certificate in complimentary therapies at Aoraki Polytechnic.
I was exposed to many modalities and reflexology was the one that I enjoyed the most.
Reflexology is holistic and there was just something so comforting about it.
Having glandular fever made me quickly realise that conventional medicine isn’t always the way as there was nothing that could be done for me while I remained in bed for 3 months.
Rather than continuing study at the time, I went on to spend 5 years working in office-based work and then I discovered the fantastic industry of Information Technology. I have spent 15 years now working in this industry and while it is fantastic, it is also hard, challenging work that requires long hours which creates a high stress environment. This combination caused stress-based illnesses and bouts of burnout to occur in various degrees, every 2 years or so.
So, while I was functioning and loving life, I was also struggling at times with what I now know to be stress. I finally had a major illness 2 years ago which was caused by an unhealthy and stress-based lifestyle which lead me to reassess my life and reconnect with who I truly want to be so I can live my best life.
I feel I have woken up and rediscovered my true self with completing a Diploma in Reflexology. The strengths I bring to my Reflexology practice is my own experiences with stress-based illnesses throughout my life.
The main aim of Soul Flex is to present the modalities and products that I have discovered that have helped me in the hope that it can help other people to reclaim their health and their lives by removing stress and tension from it.
Soul Flex is an authentic reflection of myself and my experiences. I am so proud to finally call myself a Reflexologist and a business owner.
